2019: Buhari does not need a presidential debate to win an election—Keyamo

Mr. Festus Keyamo, Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation spokesman has reminded his countrymen and the main opposition party, the People Democratic Party (PDP) that his boss, Muhammadu Buhari does not need a presidential debate to win the 2019 presidential election.

Festus, comparing his boss to Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya said Uhuru did not debate, yet he won the election in his country as a president.

We are yet to collectively decide if the president will debate ahead of the 2019 presidential elections, Keyamo said.

“In the past, Buhari has taken an active part in a televised debate, so nobody can argue that he is somebody who is camera shy,” Keyamo said while speaking on Arise TV on Monday.

“So the decision, whether he would take part this time must be a collective decision of the entire campaign war room”

Defending his boss, Festus said, Uhuru Kenyatta who won the Kenya president refused to participate in the presidential debate and yet he won.

Uhuru did not only win his country president, but he also won in a landslide victory, so debate does not determine winning an election, Festus added.
