Mr. Olusegun Obasanjo, former Nigeria President has urged the Southeast people (the Ibos) to flee from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Buhari government, saying the promise to hand over power to Ibos in 2023 is a huge deceit and has asked them not to vote for APC in the 2019 general elections.
Obasanjo made this known at a stakeholders’ meeting that was held in Ukpor, Nnewi South local government area of Anambra state.
The former president tasked the Ibos to work hard and champion the course of their destiny, he assured them that the ruling APC has no plans to hand over power to them in 2023 as they have promised.
The Ibo nation must come together in unionism and ensure Atiku/Obi win the 2019 presidential election; it is hazardous to take the APC government seriously.
This is even as Mr. Boss Mustapha, the secretary to Mr. Muhammadu Buhari government has assured the Ibos of 2023 presidency if they vote for his boss in the 2019 election.
A promise Obasanjo had said, APC and its government are out to deceive the Ibo people, saying it is a promise that was designed to deceive them and has since tasked the Ibos not to fall for the trap.
At the event, the former president said Mr. Peter Obi, the running mate to Mr. Atiku Abubakar, the People Democratic Party candidate for the 2019 presidential election is a light of hope for Nigeria.
He urged Obi to make sure he gets to all stakeholders to ensure they all work for PDP success in the 2019 election.
Obi did great as a governor of Anambra state, and there is no doubt he will take the same energy and experience to work for Nigerians as the Vice-President.
We have the hope that, with Obi, things will work again in Nigeria, Obasanjo added in an optimistic tone.
