24 hours after quitting PDP,  Gbenga Daniel declares intention to join APC

Mr. Gbenga Daniel has announced his intention to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), 24 hours after he quitted the main opposition party, the People Democratic Party (PDP).

Daniel was the director general of Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation.

He said his supporters are demanding that he leads them to APC.

This is coming 24 hours after Daniel announced his decision to quit partisan politics.

Daniel on Sunday at his residence held meeting with his supporters where he claims they reached a decision for him to join APC.

Daniel during the Saturday governorship and house of assembly elections asked his supporters to vote APC candidate, Mr. Dapo Abiodun, Osun state governor elect.

Abiodun after he was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission, held a private meeting at Daniel’s residence in
Maryland, Lagos.

However, what they discussed at the meeting was not made public.

On Sunday, Daniel declared his intention of joining APC, citing pressure from his supporters as a justification for his move.

My supporters said I can quit PDP, I must lead them to APC and cannot resign from politics, Daniel claims.

Asked if he was ready to join APC, Daniel said his people have asked him to do so.
