Abuja residents located at Gosa Kpanyi Kpanyi community in Kuje Area Council have recounted how they have lived over 40 years without electricity and water, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) has reported.
Residents who spoke with NAN reporters disclosed how government does not care about their existence for over 40 years.
Worse still, the community is located along airport road with numerous street lights mounted by the government.
A community resident, Mr. Tanko Joshua who said he was born in the community 40 years ago, claims he never saw water and light in the area since he was given birth to.
He said those who own telephones spent N50 daily to charge their phones in a commercial phone charging operator.
Some of the residents also pointed out, there is no school in the community say their children attend school in a close by community.
Some of them narrated how politicians visit the community for an election campaign make all kinds of promises and disappear as soon as they win the election.
They have appealed to the Federal Capital Territory adminstration to help provide water, light and other basic necessities in the community.
There is no hospital in the community, while residents rely on other hospitals in Lugbe and other satellite towns for medical treatment, they added.
