A Nigerian Senator says N13.5 million monthly salary grossly underpayment wants govt to increase it

Mr. Benjamin Uwajumogu, a senator from Imo North has noted that the huge work senators do does not equal the salaries paid to them.

Bemjamin called on the government to increase their salary saying N13.5 million monthly  pay to Senators is grossly inadequate, compared to the nature of Job they do.

He made this disclosure at Abuja while responding to journalist question.

Comparing civil servants with senators, is like “comparing apples to oranges.” he said.

He advised the Federal Government to implement the new minimum wage, but strongly advised it to review lawmaker salaries pointing out that Senators are grossly underpaid while they work so hard.
