A ghastly motor accident has claimed the lives of four persons and left others with different degrees of injuries early hours on Sunday morning along Keffi- Kaduna expressway.
Speaking to Media Advocacy West Africa Foundation (MAWA – Foundation), Mr. Sunday Yaro, a witness, told MAWA Foundation via a telephone conversation that the accident occurred as a result of over speeding by a Volkswagen Opel driver who was carrying six passengers to Jos Plateau State, collided with the oncoming truck that was conveying sheep and goats to the animal market in keffi while trying to dodge a pothole.
Confirming the incident to MAWA Foundation, Mr. Adamu, a road safety officer said they had cautioned the driver earlier for over speeding before they received distress called about a serious accident along Keffi – Kaduna high way which claims several lives and that of animals.
He, however, said both the survivors and the dead were taken to Federal Medical Centre Keffi for medical treatment and mortuary.
Officer Adamu equally called on the drivers to be more cautious while appealing to the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) to as a matter of urgency fixed all potholes to minimize accidents.
