Akpabio: PDP died the day I dumped the party

Mr. Godswill Akpabio, a senator representing Akwa Ibom north-west, says Nigeria’s main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) died as soon as he left the party.

Akpabio dumped PDP and joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in August last year.

Appearing in a Channels Television programme Akpabio said PDP lost the presidential candidate the moment he left the party.

PDP lost their capacity to win election disappeared as soon as I left the party, Akpabio said.

The senator said PDP would have defeated Buhari if he did not dump the party, alluding that Nigerians love him and wanted continuity.

He accused the Akwa-Ibom state of rigging him out and promised to reclaim his mandate.

The former minority leader said, disclosed that people in his state Akwa-Ibom love Buhari very well and voted for him.
