Am very confident winning presidential election, do not rig for me, Buhari warns

Mr. Muhammadu Buhari, the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate has warned that nobody should rig election for him, saying anyone doing that is risking his life.

Addressing members of his party in a meeting at Abuja on Monday, Buhari warned that nobody should make any attempt of tampering with voting material let alone rigging the election.

The president assured his party men that he has enough support across the 36 states of the federation that will enable him to win the election, and warned that nobody should rig election for him.

“Anybody who decides to snatch ballot boxes or lead thugs to disturb, it may be the last unlawful action you will take,” he warned.

I find it very difficult to tell the military and the police to brutalize persons. We will not take the blame when the military or the police torture anyone, rests assured, we are not going to rig election.

The president told his party men, his ultimate goal is to see Nigeria being respected and said they must allow Nigerians to vote whoever they want across the parties.

I am not afraid of a free and fair election, he said.

I have campaigned across the 36 states, and have gotten huge supports, anybody who thinks he has the influence to use thugs to snatch ballot boxes may be doing that at the expense of his own life, Buhari warned.

Buhari has since asked the Nigeria electoral management body, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to take Nigerians for granted, and warned the security agencies no to harass voters on Election Day.
