Mr. Muhammadu Buhari, the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate for February 16 campaign rally on Monday at Ogun state recorded huge violence.
Supporters of the APC and Allied Peoples Movement (APM) clashed at the rally.
The rally took place at Moshood Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta.
APM members are loyal to Mr. Ibikunle Amosun, the state governor who is contesting for a senate seat under the APC.
The two parties are backing Buhari.
Some of the thugs with dangerous weapons such as guns and axes, were arrested by the Police.
The crisis spread outside of the stadium, venue of the rally, with many scampering for safety.
Mr. Abayomi Kunle who confirmed the crisis to WEST AFRICA REPORTERS (WAR) in a telephone conversation said the violence was huge forcing tension in the town.
WAR could not immediately reach Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state police command spokesperson.
