Nigeria’s electoral management body the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has told election tribunal that Mr. Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party in the 2019 presidential election, manufactured elections results he is parading.
The PDP candidate has gone to the tribunal challenging the outcome of the 2019 presidential election which Mr. Muhammadu Buhari, the Progressives Congress candidate won.
In an affidavit submitted to the tribunal, Atiku claims he polled 1,615,302 to defeat Buhari, the APC candidate.
A claim Atiku says he got from INEC data base and has since maintained its authenticity.
Data from INEC server reveals that I polled a total of 18,356,732 votes to win Buhari, who polled 16,741,430 votes, Atiku said.
In its response, INEC dismissed Atiku claim and said they are forged results manufactured by the PDP candidate.
The commission said, Atiku manufactured the results for the purposes of the tribunal, and denied knowledge of the results.
INEC denying knowledge of the website www.factsdontlieng.com, says the site is not known to it and says Atiku created and own the website.
INEC says it did not transmit elections results electronically, and wondered where Atiku got results he claims were from the Commission server.
However, the Commission says it has 83 witnesses to prove its case with Atiku.
