All forms of gambling including NaijaBet and BetNaija have been banned in Bauchi, the state House of Assembly in support of this move has passed a bill banning ownership and operations of gambling in the state.
Mr. Aminu Tukur, a state legislator representing Lere/Bula constituency, addressing newsmen in Bauchi the state capital on Thursday disclosed that the state assembly has passed a law banning all forms of gambling in the state.
The lawmaker say the bill is known as Gambling and Gaming Machines Prohibition Law of the state.
Tukur disclosed that the bill has passed first, second and third readings, saying the lawmakers understand the importance of the bill and gave it accelerated hearing.
“The bill will ensure that gambling is not only banned but will also sanitise the morality of our youth and children”, he said.
The lawmaker say gambling is a venture that both Islam and Christianity condemn and do not encourage, describing it as waste of resources and immorality.
