Mr. Yahaya Bello, the Kogi state governor may be coasting to victory as the All Progressives Congress (APC) disqualifies Mr. Jibrin Usman, his closest rival and 11 others at the party screening to clear those that will be participating in the primaries election.
Mr. Hope Uzodinma, who led the APC screening on Monday, has released the result which shows Jibrin and 11 other aspirants were not cleared and hence disqualified.
Part of the reasons the party gave for disqualifying the candidates is a false declaration of age, valid Permanent Voters Card and financial member of the party.
APC has slated August 29th for the conduct of party primaries to elect a candidate who will fly its ticket for November 16 governorship election.
Those cleared at the screening are Mr. Yahaya Bello, Hassan Bello, Ekele Aisha Blessing, and Abubakar Bashir.
An action that seems to put Bello at the advantage position as those cleared do not pose any threat to Bello as they lack the political clout to match Bello.
Those not cleared are:
Sani Lulu Abdulahi,
Gen. Patrick Akpa(rtd)
Prof. Mohammed Onaili,
Rear Admiral Usman Jibril (rtd)
