Mr. Yahaya Bello, the Kogi state Governor is alleged to be owing his aides over 18 months allowances and entitlements.
The aides are groaning over the development and want the governor to pay them their money.
One of the aides who spoke to WEST AFRICA REPORTERS (WAR), said he cannot remember when last he received allowance from the state government.
Another of the aide told this newspaper that some of them are surviving on loan.
“People think we are enjoying, we are dying on silence and are carrying a heavy burden”, he told WAR.
Insider source in the government house, told WAR that one of the major reasons Petra Akinti former aide to Bello resigned was as a result of non payment of allowances and other bureaucratic rascality.
Mr. Ameh who does not want his second name mentioned, claims he is a friend to one of the aides, told this newspaper how the aide has been struggling to survive despite working withe the state Governor.
Virtually all the cars you see the aides driving as official cars are not given to them for free, they are paying back by having their salaries deducted, Ameh told WAR.
When WAR sought the explanation from the Kogi state government, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, Director Media and Publicity to Kogi state Governor, refused to comment on the issue.
