Constituency project: Despite N5 million renovation allocation, children learn sitting on floor in Imo

Children at Amuzu Community School in Amaimo Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State continue to learn in class room sitting on the bare floor.

This is even as the sum of N5 million was allocated for the renovation of the school since 2016.

Mr. Samuel Anyanwu, a Senator representing the community had in 2016 nominated the renovation of the school as his constituency project.

Three years later, the school continues to be in a dilapidated condition despite funds allocation made.

Tracka official has since confirmed that Mr.Anyanwu has refused to respond to enquiries about how the monies allocated for the school renovation was expended.

Mr. Anyanwu is not the only offender, often, Nigerian Lawmakers under the cover of constituency project nominate project using Ministry Department and Agencies, to be implemented in their respective communities.

WEST AFRICA REPORTERS (WAR) has extensively reported how many of the constituency projects were abandoned, with community beneficiaries as the most casualties of the corruption that takes place in constituency project funds.

WAR could not immediately reach Mr. Anyanwu for official response.
