Mr. Mwajim Musa, a lawyer and Abuja resident is set to drag Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) over what seems to be a fraudulent practice of the company charging him above electricity consumed.
His lawyer, Mr. Issa Mohammad in a letter sent to AEDC dated March 13, 2019, disclosed his client who lives in Bwari area of Abuja purchased a prepaid metre with 02150778260 at the sum of N24, 832.
As a result of excess consumption of unit by the metre, he went to AEDC and demanded for a print out receipt of the metre history.
The print out, shows, AEDC secretly migrated the sum of N187,004 to the newly purchased metre without Musa knowledge.
When the fraudulent practice by the AEDC was discovered, the company in a letter dated March 14, 2019 signed by Mr. Ephraims Akamihe, General Manager Legal Services, said it was a human error, that was caused by mistakenly migrating another customer debt to Musa.
Akamihe, in a letter to Musa apologized for the wrong billing, and said AEDC fully regret their action.
