The death trap that leads to Anambra state government house makes residents and visitors in Anambra state to undergo predicament to access the state government house.
The road which is in a very deplorable condition is the popular
Awka, Commissioners Quarters road which leads to the state government house Awka, the Anambra state capital.
Pictures of the road, sent to WEST AFRICA REPORTERS (WAR) by Better Anambra, an organisation that works to improve the welfare and governance in Anambra state, shows how deplorable the road has become.
The organisation has since appealed to the state Governor, Mr. Willie Obiano and Mrs. Uche Ekwunife, a Nigerian Senator from the state to help in fixing the road.
Anambra is not the only offender, across the southeast, South West and South South zones of Nigeria, there are huge number of roads that are dilapidated while residents are appealing to government to help fix them to reduce their sufferings using the road.
Warri – Sapele road, Obollo – Nine Mile road, Enugu Onitsha road, are some of the dilapidated roads commuters decry their terrible nature.
Worse still, States and Federal Governments make budgets annually, with some of the roads captured in the budget.
And over the decades, the roads have continued to be in a deplorable condition while nobody is been held to account over monies allocated to fix the roads.
