Mr. Ikechucku who sells auto spare parts told WAR he has lived in the area for over 25 years. Lamenting the terrible nature of the road, he pointed out that, apart from its terrible nature, there are health issues in the community.

He recounted, how many of the residents especially children die of typhoid and other sicknesses, saying the dirty environment in the area is responsible for the incident.

Another resident Obinna, who lives in the area and sells cloth in the Sabon Gari market, told WAR that the road has been in terrible condition for many years. He said, Sabon Gari residents do enjoy any kind of development in Kano; he accused the state government of neglecting the area.

This is even as the state government budgeted over N219 billion for the 2019 fiscal year.

Ganduje explaining the budget said the sum of N134.06 billion will be expended for capital expenditure.

The governor said, more than N38.3 billion will be expended for infrastructural development projects across the state.

He pointed out that part of the resources will be allocated to the construction and maintenance of infrastructure across the 44 local government areas in the state.

Worse still, Zungeru road continues to be in a terrible situation despite the budget and governor assurances to fix roads across the local government areas in the state.

Tracka team who was at the area to monitor and evaluate project has since exposed the terrible nature of the road.

WAR could not immediately reach out to Kano state government for a response why the road has continued to be in a terrible condition after many years of budgets allocation for infrastructural development.
