Mr. Usman Okai a Kogi politician has told the police that his life is in danger, pointing to how top officials in Kogi state government are planning to kill him.
He has since reported the matter to the police. In a petition written to the Department of State Security Service (DSS), Okai told the Director of DSS in Abuja, Acting Inspector General of Police and the Commander-Federal Special Anti – Robbery Squad, Abuja, that Mr. Edward Onoja and other top state government officials have perfected plans to kill him.
Mr. Okai says he has a piece of reliable information that Mr. Yahaya Bello, the Kogi Governor, and top government officials are angry that his activities on the state are the reason the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has decided not to give Bello ticked for his second term bid. An allegation he has since dismissed as a lie.
The Kogi politician told the DSS that part of the state government and its top official strategy is to stage manage a robbery attack where he can be killed or sustain a permanent injury.
Okai told the police that Mr. Edward Onoja, the Kogi state Chief of staff has paid a huge amount of monies to some persons suspected to be assassins to ensure he is killed by any means possible.
Mr. Okai said he reported the hatched plan to the police so that the law enforcement agents will investigate it and ensure his safety and that of his family.
When WEST AFRICA REPORTERS (WAR), sought the explanation of Mr. Kinsley Fanwo-Director General, Media, and Publicity to Kogi state Governor and Mr. Edward Onoja-Chief of Staff, both declined to comment.
