The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) under the embattled former chairman Mr. Ibrahim Magu was a dangerous cartel, Shehu Sani has said.
The lawmaker from Kaduna state said the cartel was run by Magu boys or a name called “the chairman squad”.
Sani pointed out that members of the squad were selected from a particular section of Nigeria; he however added that you can only know how dangerous the commission was under Magu when you ask honest persons who work with the commission.
“The EFCC under their embattled Chairman was run by a cartel known as “Magu Boys” or “The Chairman squad” mostly by personnel from a particular section of the country. You only need to ask some other honest and innocent officers from the agency of what they do” Sani Twitted.
Magu was on Monday arrested after Mr. Abubakar Malami, the country attorney general petitioned the president over allegations of corruption that took place under him while he was the EFCC chairman.
He has since been suspended while currently in detention to answer questions on the numerous allegations against him.
A situation, Sani has since said Magu may be guilty considering the way he managed EFCC under him as a one-man cartel.
