Ekiti state first Lady attacked, two students, one policeman killed

Mrs.  Bisi Fayemi, the wife of the Ekiti state governor, Mr.Kayode Fayemi has been attacked by some students.

The attack that happened on Tuesday at the Federal University Oye  Ekiti was triggered when a police officer in a convoy of the governor’s wife teargas the protesting students.

Miss Chinyere, a witness say the police officer threw teargas on students who were protesting lack of electricity in their area when the governor’s wife arrived.

Angry with the teargas, the protesters insisted the governor wife will not go, an action that resulted to violence that led to the death of two students and a police officer.

Some persons who spoke to WEST AFRICA REPORTERS (WAR) from Oye Ekiti, say two persons and a policeman were killed in the attack.

Mr. Caleb Ikechukwu, the Ekiti state police command spokesperson, while confirming the attack, say thugs hijacked the students protest.

The spokesperson say the students blocked Ifaki-Ikole-Omuo road and prevented vehicular movements.

The police were able to take the governor’s wife out of the scene unhurt.
