Mr. Nasir Elrufai, the Kaduna state Governor moves to demolish an Anglican Church in Kaduna.
The Kaduna Governor has given the church seven days to vacate the premises for the planned demolition.
The church located at St. Gregory’s Anglican Church Sabon Gari, Zaria was build 110 years ago.
The Kaduna State Urban Planning Development Agency (KASUPDA) who issued the notice say the church will be forcefully evicted after the expiration of seven days notice.
The Nigeria Christian apex body, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has raised alarm over the planned demolition.
Mr. Joseph Hayab, the Kaduna CAN chairman in a statement on Thursday while condemning the move, say they are shocked that Kaduna state government wants to demolish an Aglican church that has been in existence for 110 years.
The CAN President said there was an attempt to demolish the church in 2016, but was stopped when the church provided its documents.
The christian body has since asked the Governor to ensure the church is not demolished.
This is coming few weeks Mr. Nyesom Wike, the Rivers state Governor came under attack for an alleged demolition of Mosque in Port Harcourt city.
The Kaduna state government could not be reached for an official response.
