Extra: Jalingo residents invade COVID-19 isolation centre cart away over 200 beds

Some resident of Jalingo, the Taraba state capital on Moday invaded the state COVID-19 isolation centre, carting away over 200 mattresses and other items WAR has learned.

The centre located at NYSC camp along Wukari-Jalingo Road was invaded by some youth who broke the gates and doors of the centre, Daily Trust reports.

The suspects took away more than  200 mattresses

Policemen and officers of the Nigerian army who were deployed to prevent the youth from carting away items from the centre were over powered by the invaders.

A state official who confirmed the loot to WAR on Tuesday morning via a telephone conversation, while condemning the act, assured that the suspect will be arrested and prosecuted to serve as example to others.
