The Rwanda police have shot dead two persons who disobeyed government lockdown order issued to contain the spread of coronavirus, a deadly disease that has held the world hostage.
Mr. John Kabera, the Rwanda National Police spokesperson, who announced the incident on Wednesday, said the deceased attempted to fight the officers, forcing them to open fire at them.
The country began a two-week lockdown on March 22; the order is restricting travel between towns and cities and forcing residents to stay indoors.
A mechanism, the country said was put in place to contain the spread of coronavirus.
