The Kano state Police command in a statement on Thursday disclosed that it has apprehended three men for an allegedly kidnapping Ahmad Ado, a 5-year old boy, and killing him.
Mr. Abdullahi Haruna, the command spokesperson said they learned of the incident on Wednesday.
The kidnappers had earlier placed a ransom of N50 million on the boy.
They were arrested by the
Puff Adder detectives from Anti-Kidnapping Squad, Haruna said.
Mr. Ibrahim Ahmad, of Darmanawa quarters was mentioned as the principal suspect.
The principal suspect has since told the police that Abdulmajid Mohd and Musa Sunusi, both 18-years-old of Sheka Quarters, Kumbotso Local Government area of Kano are partied to the crime.
They confessed how excess drug administered to the boy killed him while they dug a shallow grave and buried him in an uncompleted building.
“The scene was visited by Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Iliyasu, and a team of forensic experts and the corpse was exhumed. Forensic Investigation has commenced and suspects will be charged to court after investigation,” said the spokesman.
“We are drawing the attention of all law abiding and good citizens of Kano State to be wary of all sundry, family and friends around them, as criminals are constantly changing their modus, and criminals have no signs, marks, plate number or registration number.
“Therefore, the command is using this means to warn that criminals have no hiding place in the state. They are strictly advised to repent, leave the state completely or they will be arrested and charged before a competent court of law.”
