Insecurity: US imposes visa ban on Nigeria, six other countries

Mr. Donald Trump, the American president, has imposed a visa ban on Nigeria and six other countries. An action the US government claims is part of her effort in fighting insecurity with a global focus on terrorism.

Other countries affected are Eritrea, Myanmar, and Kyrgyzstan, Wall Street Journal reports.

Although the ban will not affect regular visitor visa, restrictions will be hugely applied.

Mr. Chad Wolf, acting secretary of the department of homeland security, while speaking on the ban said, it is part of the measures adopted by US to “address security concerns in the way the banned countries track their citizens, share information with the U.S. and cooperate on immigration matters”.

Earlier, the US has ban issuance of visas to non-US women who visit the country to give birth to enable their kids to get US citizenship.
