It is a pity that northern Nigeria has no leader, the leaders have shown no moral force of leadership, and the defect in the character of northern leaders is so deep, and there is no way a region can survive it.
The people, who come together and arrogate powers to themselves under the disguise of leadership, are simply hungry for power with a plan to loot public resources as their ultimate goal without a plan to addressing any of the societal problems.
Worse still, the problems in the north will continue in years to come because nothing changes without leadership. The basic truth has remained, wherever your leader leads you, there you go, the northern destiny is tied on their leader’s character.
Unless a leader emerges in northern Nigeria, the region will continue to suffer all forms of challenges. But, make no mistake about it, the problem in the north has not started, it is about to start.
Those who assume themselves as leaders in the north have the habit of abandoning their job, live in expensive houses in Dubai, and fly into the country two days to the sharing of state allocation from the federal government and fly back the following money.
Some that have a passion for their people, will not live in Dubai, they will buy an expensive house in Abuja, the Nigerian capital city, and rule their people using a WhatsApp group.
The northern leaders do not consider education important; in short many of them consider it a taboo. They believe that education empowers the people, and, ensuring they do not get education guarantees their perpetual servitude.
The northern leaders have refused to address poverty and illiteracy that has led to huge insecurity because they have a character defect. They pretend not to see the poverty and illiteracy while they drive in big cars with their kids and concubines with their ears and eyes closed not to see and feel the problem they have caused.
When leaders from other geo-political zones are working on how to address problems in their state, northern leaders choose not to act, they rather prefer running to Abuja to ask Buhari to help them in the problems they created as a result of their character in leadership defect.
Northern Nigeria has the highest maternal and child mortality rates, with huge unimaginable poverty. But, the leadership character deficit in their leaders makes them not to see these as problems.
Do those who arrogate the position of leadership to themselves in northern Nigeria, know, leadership is about service.
The northern leaders, do not explore options for job creation, rather they see industrialization and empowerment as giving out shoes polish and sachets of milk for cobbler and mai shai as the best form of human empowerment.
The northern leaders hide under religion to put women under perpetual slavery while they send their children abroad for better education and allow them to marry the rich even when some of them are not practicing Islam.
Do the northern leaders know, farmers in the region who rely on agriculture as a means survival and job creation with the capacity of contributing hugely to the (GDP) have since abandoned their farms because bandits are now in charge of the communities?
Many are beginning to think that northern Nigeria is eternally cursed? They wonder how a region can produce these kinds of leaders with a huge character deficit.
The northern leaders hate their people, but, the problem is not because they are wicked, but they lack leadership character and have no vision of why they want to lead.
The northern leaders must not make any mistake about it, the poor will rise against them, 20 years ago, nobody believed that a Nigerian will be involved in a suicide bombing.
