Mr. Olisa Metuh, the main opposition political party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ex national publicity secretary has disclosed that Mr. Goodluck Jonathan, former Nigeria president gave him N400 million and not Mr. Sambo Dasuki, the former Security Adviser to Jonathan.
Metuh who testified before a federal high court sitting in Abuja, on Thursday; say he did not collect any money from Dasuki.
The former PDP spokesperson is being tried for alleged diverting the sum of N400 million he received using his company, Destra Investment Ltd, as a cover, an amount he claimed was for the 2015 election campaign.
Daily Trust, reports that Metuh told the court that he met with Jonathan and he promised to give him the money.
At the resumed hearing, Metuh was quoted as saying the former president made the money available to him “to carry out the national assignment.”
“Up till May 29, 2015, no individual or group had ever questioned Dasuki’s integrity not to talk of been charged or arrested for any unlawful act,” Metuh reportedly said.
Okon Abang, presiding judge, subsequently adjourned the case till June 24 for further hearing.
In 2017, Dasuki told the court he cannot recall having any dealings with the former PDP spokesman regarding the money.
