Katsina corps members protest over 10 months owed allowances

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in Katsina state have stormed the street protesting non-payment of their 10 months allowances.

The corps members who stormed some major street of Katsina, the state capital on Wednesday said they have been owed 10 months allowances by the government.

The members are mainly medical doctors, Pharmacists, Medical Laboratory Scientists, Nurses, and Radiographers among others.

They were seen on the street chanting solidarity songs, carrying placards with different inscriptions asking the government to pay them their allowances.

They say that the Katsina state government owes them 10 moths allowance starting from September 2019.

The corps members who stormed the state government house were addressed by Mr. Nuhu Danja, the State Commissioner for Health, who promised their allowances, be paid.
