Kebbi State Sets Aside N1.5 Billion For Fulani Herdsmen Support

The Kebbi State Government says it has secured N1.5 Billion loan to support nomadic Fulanis and fishermen in the state.

Mr. , Abubakar Mu’azu the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor said the governor disclosed this an interactive dialogue with Fulani leaders and Miyetti officials at Presidential Lodged Birnin Kebbi.

The event was to discuss how to improve livestock production in the state, Abubakar added.

Out of the total sum, N900 million will be expended to improve the living condition of fishermen and Fulani communities through economic empowerment.

Water supply, schools in grazing area, cattle routes and animal feed will continue to be state priority, he added.

The governor, urged community residents especially the farmers to live in peace and harmony.

He told all Fulanis in the country to support the present administration in its quest for societal development.

The Executive Secretary Universal Basic Education, Alhaji Abdulmuminu Balarabe at the event announced that more than forty nomadic schools were under construction throughout the state.
