Armed men suspected to be kidnappers have killed a policeman and passengers along Abuja – Lokoja road.
The attack that happened at Kotonkarfe led to the killing of an Assistant Superintendent of police and other passengers.
A witness narrated how the kidnappers ambushed and opened fire on a Sharon vehicle coming from Port Harcourt to Abuja killing passengers and injuring others.
Escaped by the grace of God, the witness who was a passenger in the vehicle told Daily Trust, the attack happened at 5.58pm on Tuesday.
He narrated how driver of the vehicle tried to escape but was shot making the vehicle to somersault.
The kidnappers who were wearing
military camouflage were well armed, this newspaper learned.
The driver was shot on his shoulder forcing him to loose the control of the vehicle.
Some persons injured and the driver were rushed to Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja, the Kogi state capital.
Mr. Hakeem Busari, the state commissioner of police while confirming the incident, said he has ordered investigation into the matter to bring perpetrators to justice.
