Kogi Election: Atta Of Igala turns back, says only Jibrin deserves governorship seat

The Attah of Igala has turned back his support from Mr. Yahaya Bello, and said  Mr. Jibrin Usman, Bello closest rival is the only one that deserves to be Kogi stat governor.

The traditional ruler made this known when the former Chief of Naval Staff,  paid him a courtesy visit in his palace at Idah to solicit his support and endorsement for the November 16 Kogi state governorship election.

The former chief of Naval staff who is seeking the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the state governorship election has continued to visit different traditional rulers in the state to seek their endorsement and support.

The Attah, in confirmation of his support for Jibrin, conferred to him, a  chieftaincy title, the  ‘Oga Ata Igala’.

Mr. Ameh Oboni II, the Attah of Igala while conferring the title on Jibrin, said he is the best person to rule Kogi at the moment.

The traditional ruler said, Jibrin outstanding candidature is as a result of his great contributions to Igala nation and Kogi state at large.

The Attah appealed to Jibrin to fix state roads and pay workers salaries as soon he comes into office after winning the November 16 polls.

WEST AFRICA REPORTERS (WAR), in June, reported how the Attah of Igala, led Kogi state traditional rulers to Aso-rock Villa to beg Mr. Muhammadu Buhari, the Nigeria president to support Mr. Yahaya Bello, the Kogi governor for a second term.

At the visit, the Attah, said Mr. Bello has done well by fixing roads in the state which is why he has their support.

He said the governor has put lot of infrastructure in the state and deserves a second term.

Worse still, the Igala traditional ruler, appears to have abandoned Bello and has since thrown his support behind Jibrin, Bello main rival.
