Idah-Ajaka road was on Saturday deserted as policemen took over the road arresting and harassing residents over the alleged killing of a Fulani man in the Idah area of Kogi state.
Mr. Audu who narrated the incident to WAR said police took over Ajaka – Idah road up to the Abuja junction, adding that any young man sighted was been arrested and thrown into the police van.
He, however, said the development forced him to return to Ajaka while he was on his way to Idah.
Although he did not disclose to WAR the exact location the Fulani man was killed, he said policemen block all the entry and exit points to Idah, forcing people around the exit points to stay indoors for fear of been arrested.
Mr. Ossayi, security personnel who prefers only his first name mentioned, who confirmed the incident to WAR, refused to give detail on the ground he is not authorized to speak on the issue.
Another resident, Mr. Adamu, who confirmed the incident, said, it is still unclear what the police want to achieve, pointing that residents are under apprehension and are afraid to move along the street to avoid been arrested.
He, however, confirmed that a Fulani man was said to have been killed, but not sure the exact place he was killed.
WAR could not immediately reach out to the police authority for detail and response over the development.
