Mr. Yemi Osinbajo, Nigeria’s vice president, has said Kogi state needs better leadership for improved governance, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) is reporting.
The vice president disclosed on Thursday at Abuja at the launch of “Kogi Vision”, an event that was organized by the Kogi state government.
Represented by Mr. Babatunde Irukera, director-general, Consumer Protection Council (CPC), the VP said, Kogi has everything it requires to make it great if its resources are well harnessed with the right leadership and vision.
The vice president described Kogi as a state with diversity and confluence of opportunities, critical for the development of the state and the nation.
The VP said Kogi has good mineral resources more than any other state in Nigeria but has no right leadership with a vision to turn the fortunes of the state and make it better for the people.
Osinbajo said it is only quality leaders with good vision that can turn opportunities in Kogi to a reality.
“In our lifetime, we must make sure that Kogi does as well as it can do. If Kogi does well, we will materially change not just the face of the state, but the course of the entire nation,” he said.
Bello who was represented by Mr. Useni Yakubu, a Senator from Kogi State, at the event appealed to investors to invest in Kogi, saying there are lots of opportunities in the state.
