Kogi PDP Chairman Kidnapped

Musa Adelabu, the Okene Local Government Area Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been kidnapped.

Mr. Sam Uhuotu, the Kogi state PDP chairman who confirmed the incident in a statement on Saturday, said the kidnappers dressed in military uniform, stormed his house and took him away.

The state chairman also disclosed how members of his party are been intimidated and harassed daily.

He accused the security men as been compromised and are allowed to be used by the state to harassed the opposition.

He vowed that no amount of intimidation will make PDP member not to win the November 16 governorship election.

The party chairman said Kogi people have made up their minds to send the All Progressives Congress (APC) out of the office as a result of excruciating poverty, deprivation, suicide, wanton looting and impunity that have been brought onto the people of the state by the APC government.

The party chairman disclosed that apart from kidnapping Okene PPD chairman, Mr. Abdlu-salam Kunaye, an outspoken PDP member was also kidnapped.

He has since accused APC of sponsoring attacks on PDP members to frustrate them from working to defeat APC in the forthcoming election.

“APC is aware that it has already lost grounds in Kogi state, following its woeful performance in the last four years under the out-going Governor Yahaya Bello, and as such, it is seeking ways to muscle its way by manipulations, harassment, coercing and bullying, which will be resolutely resisted by the people of Kogi State” the PDP chairman said in a statement.

However, William Aya, the Kogi State Police spokesman, denied knowledge of the incident.

“It is only when we get such a report that we will treat it as an issue but for now, it’s not an issue,” Aya said.
