Local hunters on Sunday dislodged and chased away Boko Haram insurgents at Buni-Gari community of Yobe state on Sunday.
The Boko Haram insurgents attacked the community at about 5:pm, a local from the community disclosed.
He explained that the local hunters without the help of the soldiers successfully dislodged and chased away Boko Haram insurgents forcing them to leave the town.
Despite the success recorded by the hunters, community residents have since deserted the town, and fled to Buni-Yadi community for fear of reprisal attack, a local resident say, via a telephone conversation.
This is even as Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, the Nigeria Minister of Transportation had last week claimed Boko Haram insurgents have not attacked communities outside Born state since the inception of the All Progressives Congress, APC government in 2015.
A claim that has since been punctured by the latest attack by the terrorists.
Miss Erisa, who gave only her first name, a resident of Yobe state told WEST AFRICA REPORTERS (WAR) that the insurgents made serious attempt to capture the town but was resisted by the intervention of the local hunters.
