Metele Attack: Buhari cancels official leave to mourn 156 Soldiers killed

Mr. Muhammadu Buhari, the Nigeria president has said he has cancelled his five-day official leave in honour of over 156 military men killed this month by the Boko Haram members at Metele in Borno, a state in the Northeast Nigeria.

Buhari has planned to spend 5 days leave at his hometown in Daura, Katsina state.

The president says the leave was to commence on Tuesday November 27 to December 2.

Prior to this time, the President had cancelled his trip to Benin, Edo state where he was to inaugurate the Edo-Azura Power Plant l.

The president team and security personnel who left for Daura and Benin were asked to return back to Abuja.

Buhari is expected to declare open, the service chiefs annual conference, holding at Maiduguri, Borno state capital.

Mr. Bashir Ahmad, the president aide on new media, confirmed the cancelation.
