There was mourning, anger, and confusion in Kanoma District of Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara state as suspected Bandits killed 16 persons and injured 14 on Sallah day.
Mr. Yusuf Idris, the state governor Director-General on Media, who confirmed the killings, said the governor had since gone to the community for a condolence visit.
Idris said the governor has directed the security agents to go after the suspects and ensure they are arrested and be punished.
The governor also instructed that the 14 persons who sustained injuries during the attacks be moved from Kanoma General Hospital to the Federal Medical Centre, Gusau, the state capital.
An order the governor said was to ensure they get better medical care.
He also directed that the state government will take care of the hospital bills.
The governor reinstated his commitment to work with all persons, government and community institution to ensure the menace of bandits attacks are completely wiped out from the state in order to allow residents go for their businesses without fear of been attacked or kidnapped.
Mr. Yahaya Mohammed, the Kanoma, District Head narrated to the governor during his visit how the bandit evaded the community, shot at residents killing 16 persons and injured 14.
