A N20 million Usaka Ukwu, primary healthcare hospital has been abandoned despite huge amount been expended.
The National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, in 2017 facilitated the project.
The project that is for, a construction and furnishing of primary healthcare centre type B at Usaka Ukwu community in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia state has since been abandoned.
The project has a design of solar power to be installed together in the hospital.
Worse still, the hospital has no such fittings and has since been abandoned.
Udeme who was at the community to monitor the project implementation, found that grasses have taken over the project while community residents continue to suffer lack of healthcare facilities.
Mr. Onyema, a community resident told MAWA Foundation via a telephone conversation that, the abandoned project is instrumental to the community well-being, pointing out that many residents were happy to see the project, but expressed disappointment over the project abandonment.
MAWA Foundation could not immediately reach out to National Primary Healthcare Development Agency for a response concerning the project.
