The Nigeria apex court, Supreme Court has reaffirmed an order given by a High Court sitting in Lagos ordering the forfeiture of N2.4 million allegedly to have been diverted by Mrs. patience Jonathan, wife of Mr. Goodluck Jonathan, ex Nigerian president.
The money is said to have been traced to her.
Last two weeks, the same court ordered the forfeiture of $8.4 million belonging to Patience.
However the court asked her to prove beyond reasonable doubt before it why the money will not be forfeited and returned to the Nigerian government.
The money was traced to Lawari Furniture & Bath Limited firm by the Nigeria main anti corruption agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
A five-man paned in a verdict on Friday, reaffirmed the order of the lower court directing that the fund be forfeited.
