Nigeria military, police and traditional rulers have been identified to be behind Zamfara state banditry that has taken many lives and displaced numerous homes.
A committee set up by the Zamfara state government to find a solution to banditry, said it discovered, members of the Nigeria military, police, Emirs, some state civil servants are behind the bandits attacks in villages and communities in Zamfara.
The committee said its has concrete evidence over the role played by them in supporting banditry in the state.
The committee headed by Mr. Mohammed Abubakar, ex Niger Police Inspector, while submitting its report of findings to Mr. Bello Matawalle, the state Governor on Friday, at Gusau, the state capital, said 10 soldiers, Emirs, some policemen and civil servants played active role in supporting banditry in the state.
The committee report covered the period between June 2011 and May 2019.
