Nigerian soldiers have rescued an abandoned child in Ebonyi, a state in the southeast part of Nigeria.
The soldiers were on search operations looking for Mr. Oluwabukunmi Fadoju, a soldier who was last seen 17 September this year.
The soldiers under the troops of 24 Support Engineer Regiment Abakaliki found the baby at Onunwakpu in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State on Friday, in a building closed to the market.
The child has been malnourished, locked up in a house, seated under a charm and was being fed by leaves he picks from the ground.
The soldiers when rescued the child, gave him some banana and biscuits to eat to regain energy.
The child has been taken to the military hospital for medical attention, a military official said.
