Nigerian Students reject petrol, electricity hike

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Maiduguri zone has condemned and rejected the increase in petrol and electricity prices.

The association made this known through its

zone C coordinator, Mr. Suleiman Mohammed Sarki who said that Nigerians have barely recovered from the untold hardship brought by the COVID 19 pandemic and cannot survive the increase in prices of petrol, electricity among other commodities.

Suleiman noted that while other countries are trying to alleviate poverty by a reduction in prices of goods and issuing of palliatives, Nigeria is doing the direct opposite.

He says the association alongside other Nigerians is questioning the promises made by the Buhari led administration to the people before they were elected int the office.
