No date for minimum wage implementation — Labour

The Labour union has said there is no date for the implementation of minimum wage.

Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council made this known.

The negotiation council said the federal government has no time when it will start minimum wage implementation across board.

Mr. Alade Lawal, General Secretary Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council, disclosed this
in an interview at Abuja.

The Secretary General said he hopes labour and the government will resolve all issues and commence the implementation of minimum wage as soon as possible.

Lawal said, they are mobilising labour to ensure all issues are resolved with the government.

Lawal who dismissed the claim by the government that it has commenced payment of minimum wage to workers on levels 1-6, said labour has not received any minimum wage from the government.

As far as labour is concerned  government has not paid any minimum wage, Lawal said.
