Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, the Nigeria’s Minister of Transportation allegedly gave a standing instruction that delayed a passenger train for two hours to enable him be on board.
The 6:00pm train moving from
Abuja-Kaduna was delayed on Friday when Amaechi gave a directive for the train to wait for him and Mr. Sunday Dare, the Minister of youth and sports to be onboard to Kaduna.
A source say when Amaechi realised that keeping the train for so long will anger the passengers, he released the train to travel with minister of youth and sport.
He could not follow the train because he could not meet up with time and was trying to avoid keeping passengers for a long time waiting for him.
Mr. Abubakar Sani, one of the passengers, said they were checked into the train and waited for more than an hour 40 minutes.
He added that some of them had to disembark from the train and observed prayers, he told Daily Nigerian.
After waiting for an hour 40 minutes, the minster and his entourage arrived and passengers were asked to return back to the train he said.
Some of the angry passengers walked up to the Minister of youth and sports and registered their disappointment, Sani said.
The Minister of Transportation could not be reached for official response as Mr. David Iyofor, his spokesman neither respond to text messages nor picked calls made to his telephone.
