Plateau PDP Chairman suspended for diverting Atiku campaign funds

Mr. Damishi Sango, the Plateau state chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been suspended for diverting Mr. Atiku Abubakar 2019  presidential campaign funds.

Sango was suspended alongside with his deputy.

Mr. John Akans, the state party Publicity Secretary disclosed this in a press statement on Wednesday.

Akans said the decision was reached at the party executive meeting that was held on Wednesday.

The suspension was done to save the party from collapse, Akans said.

The party spokesperson said both the suspended chairman and his deputy used fraudulent means to divert Atiku – Obi campaign funds.

The chairman and his deputy were also accused of diverting monies meant to assist the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state.

The party has since directed the chairman and his deputy to return all party properties in their possession within 48 hours.

Akan said, having suspended the State Chairman and his Deputy, Mr. Chris Hassan, the State Vice Chairman Northern Senatorial Zone, will assume the leadership position.
