An angry Coronavirus patient at the Lagos state Isolation centre on Friday attempted to escape, citing its terrible nature as a justification of his action, a nurse at the centre said.
A top official of the isolation centre who spoke to journalists on Friday, and did not want his name mentioned, said the poor state of the isolation centre is unbearable.
He has since called on Lagos state government to equip the centre.
This is even as Obafemi Hamzat, the Lagos State Deputy Governor on Friday said the state government had built a facility to handle Coronavirus outbreak.
The Deputy Governor added that the state facility has a lab that can accommodate 100 at a time.
However, a nurse at the Lagos Isolation centre said mosquitoes and excessive heat are making patients to complain while some want to escape.
A health worker who spoke to Punch Newspaper on Friday said patients at the centre wanted running away because of how terrible the centre is.
She disclosed that the rooms are very hot and mosquitoes are having free days.
There is nothing there in the isolation centre, aside from the bed and hospital locker, the health worker said.
