Mr. Jerry Gana, Social Democratic Party presidential candidate has rejected Mr. Muhammadu Buhari, All Progressives Congress presidential candidate endorsement by his party SDP.
Mr. Ike Neliaku, director-general of Gana’s campaign, addressing pressmen say they reject Buhari endorsement by some members of SDP, accusing those who are behind the act as desperate.
This is even as Mr. Yinka Oyebode, the party spokesperson in a statement said the party national executive council endorsed Buhari after wide consultatiin with party members.
Neliaku said some core members of SDP were not in the meeting were the endorsement decision was made.
“We wish to categorically condemn and dissociate ourselves from this unfortunate, retrogressive, outrageous, unjust, mercantilist, disgraceful betrayal of trust and anti-party activity led by a small faction loyal to the running mate to Donald Duke, Alhaji Shehu Gabam,” he said.
The decision taken by some factional members of the party is injurious to the party, the Neliaku said.
The decision to endorse Buhari is repulsive and totally unacceptable to SDP, the campaign coordinator said.
Neliaku said SDP supporters whose voices they represent is not in agreement with Buhari endorsement.
Neliaku announced that members of the party loyal to Gana will on Monday hold a meeting to build up support for Gana.
