A Nigerian Lawmaker, Mr. Olusola Adeyeye, representing the people of Osun Central at the upper legislative chambers, the Senate, has been caught in the act of shortchanging his people using constituency projects as a cover.
Adeyeye, in 2018, nominated N90 million for the rehabilitation of Oyan Grammar School,Oyan, Odo-Otin Local Government Area in Osun Central Senatorial District of Osun state.
A deal that was nominated using the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) as a cover.
The contract was awarded to Sif Ade Nigeria Limited.
A Senior Tracka official told this Newspaper in a telephone conversation that only one building was renovated in the school.
The contractor only replaced the roof with new Zincs and painted the wall, he added.
However, checks by WEST AFRICA REPORTERS (WAR), shows Adeyeye and UBEC may have shortchanged the people.
Mr. David Ezimma who is a civil engineer who said he has built schools at Gwagwalada, Kuje and Bwari areas of Abuja, told this Newspaper, that amount is enough to build five schools.
He said renovation of this kind of structure averages between N2 million to N3 million.
WAR could not immediately reach Adeyeye as his phone number did not not connect despite several attempts.
