The Nigeria universities lecturers union, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has asked the Nigerian government to stop lying to the general public that it gave her the sum of N163 billion.
Mr. Sunday, Ade Adejumo, the union Ibadan zonal coordinator in a press statement on Monday challenged the government and accused them of spreading falsehood.
Mr. Chris Ngige, the Nigeria minister of labour had revealed that the Nigerian government released the sum of N163 billion to university union.
The funds he said were gotten from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).
A claim the university lecturers said is a lie and has asked respective university Vice-Chancellors to set the record straight.
The university lecturers union, ASUU embarked on strike since November 2018 and have vowed not to call off its strike until the government meets their demands which some of them are salaries and provision of infrastructures in the universities.
