A suicide bomber on Friday has attacked a wedding reception killing six and leaving over 14 persons injured in Afghanistan’s eastern Nangarhar province.
Local officials say the attacker detonated the explosives on Friday inside the house of a pro-government commander in Pachir Aw Agam district.
“The explosion happened at the wedding of Commander Malak Tor’s nephew, specifically at the time when food was being served and many people had gathered in one place.
Among those killed were the bomber, a child” Mr. Atahullah Khogyani, a spokesman for Nangarhar province’s governor said.
The spokesperson said those who were injured have been taken to the hospital for adequate medical treatment.
However, local residents told Reuters news agency that at least 10 people were killed in the blast.
